Learn By Doing
When students connect with everything that makes Drake such a special place, they get what we call the Drake Experience. Here are some of the ways we help students make those connections.
The Drake Curriculum
This core set of courses that every Drake student takes will deliver the liberal arts education that’s critical to success in a complex, rapidly changing world.
First Year Seminar
Every student starts their Drake Experience with one of these small, discussion-based classes. You’ll explore an interesting topic while forming the connections and friendships critical to enjoying your time at Drake.
Honors Classes
Small classes use reading, writing, and thought-provoking discussions to build the critical thinking, intellectual abilities, and interpersonal skills needed for success in any career field.
Study Abroad
Take advantage of exciting opportunities to build global thinking skills while exploring and understanding cultures around the world.
Experiential Learning
Even our talented, expert faculty members acknowledge that experience is the best teacher. That’s why Drake offers students in every major abundant opportunities to learn by doing.
World Languages & Cultures
Develop and enhance cultural and linguistic abilities in preparation for success in academic, professional, and personal global experiences.
Student Leadership Opportunities
